About me
Antonio Guerrero Ogalla
Contact me and let’s share your project.
Graduated in Marine Sciences at the University of Cadiz in 2003 and since then working in the world of aquaculture in one way or another.
At the university I acquired the basis of knowledge about the biology and culture of marine animals, auxiliary cultures and the different techniques of intensive culture.
Until 2014, I worked for the company Blennius S.L., setting up and then designing RAS systems for aquaculture plants and public aquariums.
Among others I contributed to the projects:
- Roquetas de Mar Aquarium
- San Fernado Aquarium
- Blennius Sole Breeding Plant
- Bluefin tuna and yellowtail tuna breeding plant FUTUNA BLUE
I then moved to Belgium, where I contributed to the establishment of the new facilities of the Department of Aquaculture and Artemia Reference Center at the University of Ghent. As a research centre it has several versatile rooms for research on Artemia (Artemia salina), Mussel (Mytilus edulis) and Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) among other species.
In 2016, I joined Imaqua BVBA, a spin-off company of Ghent University created to provide solutions for the health challenges of shrimp farming, where I am in charge of the technical department.
With them I designed different rooms with RAS systems for the evaluation of shrimp feed additives with potential immunostimulatory properties, as well as the evaluation of fattening and breeding.
I also designed the synthetic seawater manufacturing systems, treatment and disposal systems for the seawater used in the experiments and the aeration supply to all the facilities.
Throughout my career I have been constantly learning about the creation of aquaculture plants, discovering little by little how to plan the cultures, design the necessary installations and their daily work and maintenance.
I have worked inside and outside Spain and with people from different countries and realities.
I speak Spanish, English and Dutch and I work with Office, vector and 3D design software… trying to promote free software.
